Sleepsyn is a mobile application designed to help you track your sleep, understand your patterns, and build better nighttime habits through personalised AI-powered insights. The app is operated by an individual developer publishing under the name Sleepsyn on the Apple App Store.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Sleepsyn app, how we use it, how we protect it, and what rights you have over it. By downloading and using Sleepsyn, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We only collect data that is necessary to provide the app's features. We do not collect anything we do not need. Below is the full list of data we collect and when.

We use your data for the following purposes only. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond making the app work well for you.
Your data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database platform. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS) and encrypted at rest. Access to the database is restricted and protected by row-level security policies — meaning your data is only accessible to your account.
Audio files (sleep sounds and meditations) are stored in Supabase Storage and streamed to your device. They are not personalised and contain no user data.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data — including your sleep logs, habit check-ins, chronotype, and account details — is permanently and immediately deleted. This deletion is irreversible.
Important: No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of any security concern, please contact us immediately at ahmadinfo05@gmail.com.
We use a small number of carefully selected third-party services to operate the app. Each is listed below with its role and a link to its own privacy policy.

We do not use any advertising networks, data brokers, tracking pixels, or analytics platforms that share data with third parties. We do not use Facebook SDK, Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar services.
Sleepsyn uses the Google Gemini API to power three features: the morning wake-up insight sentence, the AI sleep coach chat, and the monthly report narrative paragraph. This section explains exactly how your data is used in these features.
What is sent to the AI: When you use an AI feature, a summary of your relevant sleep and profile data is included in the request. This includes your first name (for a personalized greeting), your target bedtime and wake time, your bedtime reminder setting, and — for the coach chat and monthly report — your sleep history for the last 30 nights, including actual sleep and wake times, sleep quality ratings, and daily lifestyle factors you've logged (caffeine, alcohol, exercise, stress, and screen time).
What is not sent: Your email address, account ID, and any other information that could link the request back to your account are never included in AI requests. Only your first name, sleep data, and the preferences listed above are shared.
Data retention by Google: According to Google's API data usage policy, data submitted via the Gemini API is not used to train AI models and is not retained after the response is generated. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
AI coach chat history: Your conversation history with the sleep coach is stored in your account in Supabase so you can review past conversations. You can clear your chat history at any time from within the coach screen.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with third parties except in the limited circumstances described below.
You have the following rights over your personal data. To exercise any of them, go to Settings in the app or email us at ahmadinfo05@gmail.com.
We will respond to all data rights requests within 14 calendar days. For complex requests, we may take up to 30 days and will notify you if so.
Sleepsyn is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under these ages.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at ahmadinfo05@gmail.com and we will delete the data promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app adds new features or as legal requirements change. When we make significant changes, we will notify you in one or more of the following ways:
Your continued use of the app after we notify you of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you can delete your account before the changes take effect.
Minor changes such as clarifications, typo fixes, or formatting updates that do not affect your rights will be made without specific notification, though the "Last updated" date will always reflect the most recent revision.
